As civil engineering technology and rubber manufacturing technology advance, very economical and functional elastomeric bearings become essential items for bridge construction and find various applications in bridges.

As the range of application of elastomeric bearings is widened, some problems have emerged. The elastomeric rubber pad that is responsible for structural movement is simply inserted between the upper and lower plate and as a result the elastomeric pad tends to slide between the upper and lower plates. To compensate for the problems of the existing elastomeric bearing, we have developed an Elastic Stopper Rubber Bearing(ESRB) that can support a safer and better function as a bearing.

The cause of structural problems is escaping from bearing's plate for rubber. it shows sufficient safety for frequent movements and aseismatic performance by attaching the elastic stopper to prevent those problems

- The existing elastomeric bearing's stoper is steel, so its pad is damaged at shearing deformation. To remedy these shortcomings, it attached the elastic stopper. As a result, it can prevent to slip of rubber bearing by shearing deformation, and secure stability enough.
