- Sliding Earthquake-resistance Rubber Bearing(ERB-S) is specially designed bearing which PTFE and stainless steel plate is attached in the existing ERB bearing for sliding. - ERB-S is applicable for long distance movement spot and it can make continuous long span bridge applicable.
- Through attaching PTFE and stainless steel plate to upper and end plates each, ERB-S is able to slide. - When it apply to long distance movement spot, existing ERB bearing has several disadvantages such as buckling, too much height of bearing but ERB-S improve these disadvantages using a technique of sliding system. - As ERB-S is applicable to long distance movement spot, it makes continuous long span bridge possible. - Continuous long span bridge using ERB-S reduces the number of expansion joints, thus it improves drivability and saves expansion joints maintenance costs.
