Earthquake-resistance Rubber Bearing - Circular Type (ERB-C)
ERB-C.pdf

- By reducing the size of the bearing with removing the wedge, it is possible to maximize economy and save maintenance costs.
- Minimized size easily makes an edge distance thus coping width of sub structure is reduced and construction costs are saved.

- By applying with circular shape for bearings, it is possible to improve workability, economic efficiency, structural stability, aesthetics.

- Removing unnecessary wedges, circular bearings can be applied easily in any direction and it is able to reduce the number of long distance expansion joint caused from middle of girder in continuous long span bridge.

There is no stress concentration phenomenon on the corner of the bearing and it accepts displacement flexibly.

- Unified standard of expansion joints as removing wedges
- Saved expansion joints construction cost and maintenance cost

1. ERB-C consists of circular upper and lower plates and reinforced circular rubber pad including laminated steel plates. (KS F 4420)

2. Upper, lower plates and a rubber pad are manufactured in one body type thus it prevents roll over, sliding, edge lifting.

3. ERB-C has waterproof rubber to prevent the inflow of water into upper plate and damages of rubber from shear strain.

4. Sub plate molded by synthetic rubber prevent steel corrosion of lower plate and it improves durability.

5. By reducing the size of the bearing with removing the wedge, it is possible to make an enough edge distance.

6. Uniformly produced elastomeric rubber pad in a circular mold improves the rubber pad quality.
